Hi, I’m John Hagner, owner of Hagner HVAC.
Here is my story…
I was raised in Sanatoga, went to Pottsgrove High School, and I’ve lived in the Spring-Ford area for the last eight years. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me in my shop creating river epoxy tables or grabbing ice cream at Handel’s with my family.
I’m a father of two—my daughter is 20 and proudly serving in the U.S. Army, and my son just graduated from Spring-Ford High School. This summer, he started with our marketing team. This past winter I proposed (we’re getting married in April in Utah!), and my fiancée has two sons. Making memories with our blended family means everything to me.
I didn’t start Hagner HVAC because of a big corporate dream. After a five-year review at a large company, I was given a 25-cent raise. I left for a local company that paid more, but quickly learned what not to do in business. When I was asked to do something unethical, I walked away.
That’s when I decided to build my own company—one where I could do honest work, charge fair prices, and still make a living I felt I deserved. The way I do business is simple:
Good, honest work for affordable prices.
This winter, an elderly customer named Evelyn called me, frantic about the smell of oil. Years ago, we installed her AC. Her children had told her she’d have to move in with them if she didn’t have air conditioning, and when we got it running, she told us we “saved her.”
When I checked her system this time, it turned out a delivery driver had just spilled a little oil. I told her I wouldn’t charge her for the visit. She cried and hugged me as payment.
That’s why I do this. That’s what I want people to remember about me.
In Summer 2026, we brought Blake on to help with marketing and driving business to Hagner HVAC. After spending a few weeks in prior summers helping his dad on installs, he has seen firsthand how hard the crews work to bring comfort to Hagner HVAC’s customers.
Blake loves chess, art, and spending time with his girlfriend at Shy Guys. He’s a great addition to the team!

How We Got Started I have been in business for 12 years. Before that, I worked for a bigger company where I felt I was not being paid what I was worth. I left for another company that paid more, but they turned out to be shady. When I was asked to do something unethical, I walked away and decided to start my own company. I built Hagner HVAC to be honest, local, and family-owned from day one.
Our Team Culture We are a small team, and I am sarcastic and like to laugh, so I am building a family-style culture with good humor, honesty, and hard work. I care a lot about who joins this team because the right people make all the difference. Good, honest, fun people who work hard will show our customers how much we care. That makes the job less stressful and more rewarding for everyone.
What Success Looks Like Success in this role is simple: show up ready to work, do good, honest work, and leave customers happy and comfortable in their homes. There is nothing better than that feeling at the end of the day.
